Recently, President Xi Jinping replied to the head of the China-Denmark Chamber of Commerce, encouraging the Chamber and its member enterprises to make new contributions to enhancing China-Denmark and China-Europe friendship and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation. This news has sparked enthusiastic responses from the business communities in Denmark, Europe, and those concerned with the development of China-Europe relations.
Recently, the head of the China-Denmark Chamber of Commerce sent a letter to President Xi Jinping on behalf of himself and the Chamber, congratulating the 75th anniversary of China-Denmark diplomatic relations and expressing the desire to continue deepening cooperation with China. 'President Xi appreciated my deep affection for China and the confidence of Danish enterprises in China's future development, which greatly encouraged us,' said Simon Lichtenberg (Chinese name: Li Ximeng), the head and founding president of the China-Denmark Chamber of Commerce, with great emotion.
'In our letter to President Xi, we wrote: ‘We hope that more European business leaders will personally feel the sincerity of the Chinese government, the potential of the Chinese market, and the friendliness of the Chinese people.’' Li Ximeng, who started learning Chinese and Chinese culture at Fudan University in 1987 and later settled in Shanghai, said, 'I believe that those with vision in the world will understand that choosing China is choosing the future.'
Li Ximeng said that protectionism and unilateralism have impacted the international economic and trade order, but China has responded calmly and matured, focusing on long-term goals. 'Our confidence in the Chinese market has never wavered, but instead has grown day by day. I and the China-Denmark Chamber of Commerce will continue to work hard to strengthen the ties of exchange and mutual learning with China.'
Bent Mortensen, founder of Inuit Seal Oil Company, headquartered in Greenland, Denmark, told reporters that due to the company's relatively remote location, its products were previously difficult to export outside of Denmark. 'It was the China International Import Expo (CIIE) that opened up the market for us. The open platform provided by China created new opportunities for smooth trade with international markets, and China's continuously improving business environment gave us strong confidence to increase our investment in China.'
'President Xi's reply letter will inspire the Danish business community to work hand in hand with China,' said Jasper Skjær, CEO of the Copenhagen Post in Denmark. He had visited China and witnessed firsthand the rapid development of China's manufacturing industry. The 75th anniversary of China-Denmark diplomatic relations has provided an opportunity for the two countries to carry out diverse economic, trade, and cultural exchanges, which will further promote mutually beneficial cooperation.
Xu Yang, President of Danfoss China, told reporters that last year, Danfoss saw strong growth in its data center, semiconductor, shipbuilding, and energy storage businesses in China, which reflects the complementary industrial advantages and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. Last month, Danfoss officially launched its first carbon-neutral factory in Nanjing, and the company will seize the new opportunities presented by China's high-quality development to continue expanding all-round cooperation.
'President Xi pointed out in his reply letter that China has been, is, and will continue to be an ideal, secure, and dynamic investment destination for foreign businesses, which highlights the stability of China's economic development and the predictability of its policies,' said Jin Ling, Director of the Institute for Global Governance and International Organizations at the China Institute of International Studies. China’s continuous promotion of high-level opening-up and sharing the vast opportunities of Chinese-style modernization with countries around the world has injected confidence into global investors. China has shown outstanding performance in strategic emerging industries such as artificial intelligence, new energy, and biomedicine, which has attracted strong attention from Denmark and other European countries, as well as the international community.
'China is advancing the construction of a Healthy China, and as a leading foreign enterprise in the healthcare field, we are willing to continue to deepen our presence in the Chinese market and expand our innovative cooperation with China,' said Zhou Xiaping, Global Senior Vice President and President of Novo Nordisk Greater China, headquartered in Denmark. There is a solid foundation for cooperation between the two countries in fields such as biomedicine innovation and research and development. Novo Nordisk has a full industry chain layout in China and continues to upgrade its operations, expressing strong confidence in China's economic prospects and development in the country.
Zhu Caihua, a professor at the International Economics Institute of the University of International Business and Economics, stated that President Xi's reply letter sent a clear signal to European investors that China's economy will continue to develop through open cooperation. China's practical measures in welcoming foreign investment have shown the world that cooperation with China will have a bright future.
